Bone broth has been around for centuries, and is super popular in Chinese Medicine. It has many nutritional benefits and it is super easy to make. The process is lengthy in cooking time but not in preparation.
Some benefits include: a healthy supply of amino acids, collagen source, immune system booster, increased bone strength.
How to make: use the carcass of an already eaten chicken, turkey or beef bones. Place in a slow cooker with aromatic herbs and some veggies (carrots, celery, onions, garlic). Add water to top off the bones. Place on low heat for 16+ hours. The slower it cooks, the more nutrients you’ll get out of the bones. Strain the liquid and discard the bones. You can add the veggies in a blender for more flavor. Store in fridge for 5-7 days or freeze up to 6 months.
